Perfect for rustic breaks in the countryside, an Inn is a small property with basic hotel services and typically traditional decor. Inns are fully licensed and have a bar providing food and drinks in the evening, which distinguishes them from country or guest houses.
This hotel is right on the lake. From our room we had a lovely view of the lake and the town. Our dinner in the hotel was ok. We enjoyed our short stay on our way home. It will be a lovely hotel to come back to in summer.
the location excellent. we asked for high level room and got an outstanding and spacious room with view, well equipped. basic but nice excercise room
Location is excellent and saranac a lovely old-fashioned town with "left bank" french restaurant where we had superb dinner (confit the canard etc.) all around hiking trails great town even on a depressive rainy snowy day. interesting tuberculosis museum a true bonus.
Very nice and modern place, beautiful location by the lake. Great breakfast and dinner options are available in the restaurant. Convenient free parking. We really enjoyed our stay.
We had such a wonderful stay at the Franklin Manor. Rob and Carly were exceptional hosts, spending time with my husband and me to fill us in on the best places to have dinner, to hike, and rent a kayak so we could spend a day on the water. And the breakfasts! We got spoiled with the great meals to start our day.
Beautifully updated historic hotel, with all the good old stuff shined up and spiffy, and gorgeous new linens, furnishings, and finishes. Gym much bigger than you'd expect. The staff could not have been more accommodating. And dinner was great.
It was a wonderful place someone told me it was new like a year old. Very clean and the staff was great. It was 9 miles from Lake Placid and we snowshoed at Dewey Moutain right down the street. We went into Lake Placid twice it was so convenient and quiet!
The only thing that was a little disappointing was the food in the restaurant. We ate there for dinner one night and breakfast. It was pricey for what you got. Either lower the price or give you more food. But the staff was wonderful!
We loved the Boathouse! We had the best experience there because of the bartender Laurie! She was an outstanding bartender...funny, social, inclusive, knowledgeable...and all the patrons of the bar both nights really enjoyed themselves. It felt like we had all been invited to a party! I am not sure what Laurie is paid but she is worth her weight in gold to the Saranac Waterfront Inn ❤
