The manager went out of his way to help and offered advice on where to get dinner and various other things. This is an unpretentious, friendly kiwi motel, that feels safe and comfortable. I'd stay here again.

Fantastic location right where the main shopping and food street is. Walking out to get dinner and lunch was easy as there were so many options only metres away. Very clean. Room is as advertised and accurate to the photos. They offered an early check in for an extra $25 which coming off an ealry flight meant we could leave our bags and head out straight away. Very friendly reception staff.

Dinner was great fun in the Larnach Family Dining room and the host was very informative and engaging. Room was a good size and nicely decorated and with great views of Port Chalmers. Good buffet style breakfast in the coachhouse.

Staying at the castle also means there's an optional dinner at the castle available. The views were also gorgeous. Overall amazing experience!

The front of house team were great and very helpful, especially when we had a few small issues. Our included breakfast was fantastic! Loads of choice, plenty of it and a nice environment to sit and eat, while looking out at the Dunedin hills. Very handy location to the centre of Dunedin (the Octagon) where there are lots of pub and relaxed style restaurants and cafes. Note that Dunedin is very hilly, so getting back to the hotel after dinner and a couple of wines can be difficult!

Great spot on the edge of town & close to Uni. The guest house had lots of character and was really warm. Hosts were lovely and breakfast good.
