Loved the location and the authentic Japanese hotel experience. What I believe to be the owner was very friendly and helpful.

We liked the location which was close to a bus station (we arrived from the train) And also close to the various attractions. There was also a 7/11 next to the hotel so that was convenient. Felt very homey, spacious, bright room, comfortable beds, view from the room, convenient bike rental. A view of the Fuji in good visibility.
Renovated in October 2017 and located in Oishi, 47 km from Hakone, Pension Lanpou features free WiFi throughout the property and hot spring bath. Free private parking is available on site.

We had the onsen just for ourselves, pretty peaceful place and the owner even let us pick the bycicles despite only staying for a single night. Super friendly.

No frills, but we had everything we needed - a self service laundry room with low cost, comfortable room, complete array of loan items such as hangers and free onsite parking. One of few hotels which still made up the room everyday, with the option to not change bedsheets for sustainability. The optional breakfast is great at the cost (Y700 per person during our stay) with a simple buffet spread of mostly Japanese style breakfast items, sausages and so on. Onsite parking seems popular but we were always able to get a spot. Convenient location with a 24 hour chain restaurant across the road, and a decent supermarket plus drugstore that is open till late (10pm) so we could always buy what we needed.
Perfect for rustic breaks in the countryside, an Inn is a small property with basic hotel services and typically traditional decor. Inns are fully licensed and have a bar providing food and drinks in the evening, which distinguishes them from country or guest houses.
More than just accommodation, this Inn is a true Japanese experience in itself; Perfectly located to enjoy Mount Fuji, the space is super comfy and quiet, perfect for a good rest. The traditional bath was an invigorating perk, and the cherry on top was our exceptionally kind hosts who, in addition to sharing the history of their family and the location, gave us precious advice for our Mount Fuji climb and our upcoming stay in Kyoto.
We arrived late and we did the self check-in without any problem. The guest house is really warm and welcoming with free snacks and fruits available. We even received a personalized message for our arrival. This is the best guest house I’ve done and I highly recommend it!
One of my best choices in Japan. Yumiko is the loveliest person I ever met on the Roundtrip. She gave me a heartly welcome and showed me around her neatly, super-clean house. the view from the balcony is amazing. Yumiko gave me a lot of tipps(where to go to take the best photos, where to go for dinner and something else). I wished I could stay longer. Yumiko, thanks again.
A unique experience. The building is fabulous and the family running the inn is very kind and welcoming. There is AC in the room facing mt fuji and we were lucky to catch a glimpse of it during our stay. The room is large and comfortable
This is the best Onsen Ryokan hotel I've visited so far. It surpassed our favorite in Jozankei, MORI NO UTA Tsuruga Resort Spa, with unique additional activities like nightly drum shows and fun bingo games, complimentary access to a wine bar, excellent facilities, and exceptional breakfast and dinner.
Yumiko gave us everything we needed for a pleasant stay and she was very thoughtful and clear about the house rules since the beginning. She was a great host and took care of us when we came back from the mount Fuji hiking too.
The room that we stayed was fantastic. It is located at level 8 with a full view of Mt Fuji including a private onsen. The room is beautifully decorated and very comfortable. The half board dinner is superb with excellent quality.
We highly recommend Oshi-Kikuyabo Mt-Fuji Historic Inn, it was the highlight of our trip to Japan. The hosts were lovely and you could tell they had put a lot of effort into making the stay enjoyable for all guests. We enjoyed staying in a traditional Japanese home and also loved that the staff shared the history of the house and its significance. The house is central to Fujiyoshida and is within walking distance to shops.
