Perfect for rustic breaks in the countryside, an Inn is a small property with basic hotel services and typically traditional decor. Inns are fully licensed and have a bar providing food and drinks in the evening, which distinguishes them from country or guest houses.
The breakfast was cold and the bread was mouldy. We informed the waitress who brought fresh bread.
Our dinner was not really edible. We both tried fish and chips, which were cooked in too hot of oil, batter was burnt as were the chips. Another customer sent their one back as well. The staff were really nice but having to pay for a cold breakfast, mouldy bread and a very poor dinner upset us both.
Both the house and the room were very new, tastefully decorated and comfortable. The breakfast was fantastic, which is no surprise as our hostess is a professional chef. She even had a vegetarian version of the Irish breakfast and it was delicious. She also made a suggestion for dinner (Sea Church, I definitely recommend it) as we were quite late after checking in and didn't have that many options. The best part was the shower, I felt like I was in a spa.
It was a good location! Only a 10-15 walk into City Centre. Near UCC and Fitzgerald's Park. They had a great dinning area over looking the one of the channels of the River Lee that you can access 24hrs
Fantastic stay. Not too far of a drive from the city, and the house is located in a remote area so close to the shore. I would absolutely stay here again. Aislinn was very sweet and offered us great local dining recommendations.
2 minute walk to the bars, restaurants, shops etc. The room ws like a 4 star hotel room, comfortable and spacious. Breakfast was great. The only difference between the Lancaster Lodge Guest House was the fact that they did not have a bar or serve evening dinner, but because of its location that didn't matter at all. The staff were really helpful and friendly. There was also secure parking on-site, which was a bonus.
