Built in the 1400s, The George & Pilgrim is the oldest purpose-built pub in the South West of England. Situated in Glastonbury, it is steeped in history and old tales.

The building has a panelled stone frontage, mullion windows, and old oak beams. All of its suites feature a TV and tea and coffee-making facilities, and some have impressively draped four-poster beds.

Well, it is a legendary hotel, it's made its name so small lack of convinience, not perfectly clean bathroom or overall tiredness of the hotel are covered by the atmosphere, super friendly and lovely staff and history.

Very central, excellent staff, great room, sadly no ghost visited me. Maybe next time with more forward planing.

Just yards away from the ancient market place, the hotel reflects authentic period charm with its centuries-old spiral stone staircase and quaint little passages.

The staff was amazing and accommodating. I highly recommend dinner on the patio at sunset.

The pub itself and the location were fantastic. The food was excellent - we had dinner in the evening and breakfast the next morning - the full English was one of the best I've had! Staff were polite and friendly and all in all, a great stay.

Loved the inn - you could see it was old by many of the features - not just tarted up. The staff were really friendly and the food (dinner and breakfast) were excellent. Our room was nice and quiet, despite being near the road and our bathroom was exceptional.

The location was ideal for the walks that we had planned. Rooms were modern, spacious and comfortable and the bathroom was very impressive with large bath and shower/wet room. I Also loved the photos of local landmarks etc. Staff were very friendly and helpful and breakfasts and dinner were excellent with plenty of choice.
