The last hotel on the A9, The Ferry Inn at Scrabster is newly renovated and has wonderful sea views.

Just north of Thurso, Scrabster Harbour is the gateway to the Orkney Islands.

The renowned restaurant, The Upperdeck, has a fantastic steakhouse and also specialises in locally caught seafood. The lively Popeye’s is a public bar with a wide-screen TV showing sporting events.

Lovely big rooms and the sherry was a bonus

Staff were friendly and helpful. The dinner was delicious. The breakfast was plentiful and included in the price. The room was large and over looked Thurso Bay. The proximity to the Stromness, Orkney ferry was only 5 minutes away.

A great building with easy parking. Good welcome from the team there. Food both in the evening (haggis bon bons and local Fish and Chips) and at breakfast (full, freshly cooked breakfast) was great. Absolutely great pint of Guinness

It is centrally located. The woman running the restaurant was great, very friendly and helpful. The young man behind the bar was the same. We had dinner, which was very good. However, breakfast was just OK. Most of it was cold. Note that the woman running restaurant night before was not there.

Recieved a very warm welcome from our host Michael. He showed us to our room, explained the breakfast routine and then offered suggestions for restaurants for dinner. Our bedroom was beautiful - clean, comfortable and equipped with everything we could possibly need. After a good night‘s sleep we enjoyed our breakfast. Again, Michael was friendly and entertaining.
