Location is close to the bus stop. Staff are super friendly and helpful. My foot was injured during my travel. When I checked in, Trish helped me with my luggage and brought ice to my room for pain relief. Daniela always has the warm smi.le on her face no matter when I saw her.. She even brought the diner to my room. Breakfast is excellent with many choices. I love to have dinner here as well. The burgers are delicious. The chips are so soft inside with a thin but super crispy crust.. I can't stop eating.... The room is very clean.

Awesome homely b&b. Firstly, not a hotel. This place is an old 3 story house, but don’t let that turn you away. The house is excellent. The breakfast is soooo tasty. Tasty fresh eggs, and great full English breakfast. Best we have had so far on our tour of England. The rooms are cozy, the king bed was the most comfortable bed we have had so far. The shower had good pressure, and was steaming hot. The towels are large, thick and fluffy. Only a 12 minute walk to the city walls, it was great to get our ‘’steps’’ in. 🙂. The owner/manager was very accomodating and friendly. We parked on-site. A bit of a squeeze, but no complaints. The room we had was a king supreme room on the top floor. It was super quiet, and we had the best sleep so far on our road trip.

Very pleasant stay. The landlady was kind to order a taxi as the inn was still too far away to reach in time in the evening from Hadrian´s Wall. Great evening meal and breakfast. Very comfortable beds and a fantastic bathroom.

Delightful inn, the rooms were excellent - clean, comfortable, and recently refurbished. Secure storage for 4 bikes. The restaurant had an extensive and varied menu and the food was excellent. Good choice of ales and cider in the bar and plenty of tables to sit outside.

A lovely quaint coaching inn from the 1100 ‘s .. updated of course. Super comfy beds, great breakfast and staff. It’s the only inn/pub/ restaurant in town. Food is excellent best steak and ale pie… my fourth visit from nz and I love it. 10 mins to steel rigg best part of Hadrian’s wall to visit too.

It's a great location and a well presented Inn. The steak pie we had in the evening was exceptional with quality lean steak in a delicious rich gravy. A feast in itself, without the vegetables. The room had all the touches of a 5 star venue with robes, slippers, toothbrush, toothpaste, soaps, shampoo and a coffee machine, well above the norm for this price.

The room was awesome, with everything we might need: from a iron board to the coffe machine. The bed was a true bed for two people and not a small double bed. Nice bathroom as well and good Wi-Fi. we had dinner at the restaurant and the food was amazing (portions are quite big, so keep it in mind). Great location, very close to Vindolanda and the Hadrian’s Wall path!

The Red Lion is a beautiful old pub dating back to the 1190s. I loved the old world charm of the building and the food was exceptional both dinner & breakfast. The room was very comfortable & Sue was very accommodating.
