We stayed in the 'Boris' room which is dog friendly and perfectly suited us for our stay with our Boris, the dog. The room was big enough, clean with fresh towels and lovely toiletries. It also had complimentary biscuits and tea/coffee/hot chocolate. It wasn't huge but suited our needs. The breakfast was exceptional and made the stay for us, attention to detail was second to none. We didn't dine at The Haughmond on the evening as the vegetarian selection (I'm a vegetarian, husband had plenty to choose from) was showing just 1 dish which didn't appeal however, we did go for a few drinks in the bar and this was lovely. The village of Upton Magna was lovely and the surrounding areas really nice.

the location was ideal being just a few yards from the train station, was pleased that my room was on the top floor so there wasn't too much noise and light from outside at night nor could I heart the downstairs bar, the free cups of tea were plentiful and was pleased to get enough milk and sugar to match the teabags as that is often lacking in many places I stay, having two single beds was handy as I was grateful of the extra duvet in the cold weather

The Talbot Inn met all our expectations. Particularly good was the Courtyard in which we were able to enjoy our evening meal. The breakfast and evening meals were excellent
Lovely hotel. Friendly hosts and staff. Very happy to see how dog friendly they were. Room was good, we didn't want for anything. Meals breakfast and dinner were tasty and cooked well, compliments to the chef/s. Would definitely stay here again.
It's a historic building, so a bit quirky. We loved the traditional decor throughout which, together with the friendly, helpful staff, gave a welcoming, homely feel. Our room was very comfortable and well-equipped. Dinner was superb!
All the staff were welcoming, cheerful and professional. There was a good choice on the dinner menu and the selected dishes were all excellently presented and delicious. Breakfast also excellent.
