The Haughmond, hotel in Much Wenlock

Located in Shrewsbury, The Haughmond features a garden with a terrace and an on-site bar and restaurant.

We stayed in the 'Boris' room which is dog friendly and perfectly suited us for our stay with our Boris, the dog. The room was big enough, clean with fresh towels and lovely toiletries. It also had complimentary biscuits and tea/coffee/hot chocolate. It wasn't huge but suited our needs. The breakfast was exceptional and made the stay for us, attention to detail was second to none. We didn't dine at The Haughmond on the evening as the vegetarian selection (I'm a vegetarian, husband had plenty to choose from) was showing just 1 dish which didn't appeal however, we did go for a few drinks in the bar and this was lovely. The village of Upton Magna was lovely and the surrounding areas really nice.

The Vaults, hotel in Much Wenlock

In the heart of historic Shrewsbury, The Vaults is a traditional pub with a beer garden, cosy rooms and a lively bar with resident DJs. Shrewsbury Railway Station is just a 2-minute walk away.

the location was ideal being just a few yards from the train station, was pleased that my room was on the top floor so there wasn't too much noise and light from outside at night nor could I heart the downstairs bar, the free cups of tea were plentiful and was pleased to get enough milk and sugar to match the teabags as that is often lacking in many places I stay, having two single beds was handy as I was grateful of the extra duvet in the cold weather
