Built in 1450 the Bull Hotel is a timber house in the charming East Anglian village of Long Melford. The former Coaching Inn offers en suite rooms and fine food.

The Cordell and Kentwell restaurants serve traditional English cuisine and have a fine wine list to accompany the menu. Relax after dinner in an armchair by one of the Elizabethan fireplaces.

Everything! Staff were friendly and helpful, room was lovely size, bathroom had plenty of space and shelving, food was excellent - breakfast and dinner. Good location, helped by the weather being good, and an antiques fair taking place opposite.

Welcome to our 15th Century inn where our modern twist on the traditional creates a wonderful setting to enjoy our food, sample our local ales, explore our wine list and rest a weary head.

When it is time to hit the hay enjoy a restful night’s sleep in one of our ten individually styled bedrooms. Our bedrooms consist of cosy snugs, luxury rooms, a luxury suite and a family room with modern interior styling that is sympathetic to our Georgian building. Amenities in our bedrooms include flat screen TVs, tea and coffee facilities, superfast WIFI and Bramley products.

Gorgeous location in a quiet Suffolk Village. The building was beautiful and ideally decorated. We didn't use the restaurant but the menu looked good (we were meeting friends elsewhere). Bar was well stocked and staff very helpful. We upgraded and had a beautiful and large room. Bathroom was a little less decadent than the rest of the hotel but clean enough. We used our own toiletries but good to see environmental impact was thought about. TV was odd and difficult to use - usual channels didn't seem available and if we tried Netflix or any of the other apps, none of them worked, so we turned it off and just had music playing on our phones. Comfy bed, and tea/coffee available, so all good. We loved it. *worth mentioning that had we paid full price I would have felt it a little expensive, but I had a Booking.com credit and so actually it felt like a bargain.

The room was clean and bed quite comfortable. It was in a good location and plenty of places around to have dinner if you so decided. The staff I did meet were friendly enough.

The room was spacious and clean. There was a good choice of foods for breakfast, we chose continental style breakfast, but full English was also offered. The restaurant also offered a good range of lunch and dinner options. The location was good for day trips into the Suffolk and Essex countryside.

Long Melford is a pretty village, lots of interesting little shops, great place for antiques. Kentwell Hall and Melford Hall a short walk away. Beautiful hotel steeped in history. Food here is superb had dinner in the evening and the breakfast the following morning, coudn't fault it. All the staff we encountered were friendly and we were made to feel very welcome.

We liked the feel of the hotel and the location. The staff were really friendly, helpful and absolutely lovely. The rooms are spacious and our double bed was very large. We enjoyed the breakfast as well although we preferred the vegetarian sausages to the meat one ;) Cinnamon rolls are amazingly delicious, can totally recommend! Overall we were happy with our stay.
