olde world charm mixed with modern facilities but it was the people, both staff and customers, that made our stay memorable. Host Kerry demonstrated that nothing was too much trouble. Customers Joe, Davy and Graham provided interesting, and often hilarious, craic. A great range of beers in the bar and a sumptuous breakfast rounded off a great stay.

Keith, the owner, went out of his way to help us. We had been delayed in traffic and had missed our dinner booking at the local Italian restaurant. Keith called the restaurant and asked them to provide us with a takeaway, and then he cleared a space at his kitchen table for us to enjoy our supper. He was absolutely charming and a great host.

Everything! Christine was a charming hostess who did everything possible to make you feel welcome at her home. The individual rooms were charming, comfortable and well equipped. The breakfast was amazing with individual orders wonderfully catered for and additional extras such as bowls of fruit and special jams. There was so much character to the house and a very personal touch to our visit. A reservation for dinner at an Italian restaurant nearby was kindly made by Christine and we enjoyed a very good meal.

Loved the room, bed was great toilet and shower were clean, the food was good and extremely cheap. I bought a New Yorker burger and chips. The staff were friendly and great hosts and the Inn it self is situated about 5 mins from a nature reserve which was an added bonus. Really enjoyed my short stay here.

A well appointed room with all the amenities you'd expect with a very comfortable bed, located in a quiet village with the countryside for background noises. Dinner from the bar was tasty, well priced and very generous and breakfast was a delicious morning treat. Super helpful and friendly staff. Overall a great stay for the price and less than 20 minutes from Durham.
