The Red Lion Tavern had a power cut and no means of cooking a breakfast, however a staff member had made us a packed lunch and then the power came back on so we had a cooked breakfast after all, and a packed lunch. We had been caught up in the blizzard on M9 as the roads were closed. We tried alternative routes but same problem, this time flooding. By this time we decided to look for accommodation for the night and found the Tavern online. We were made welcome and happy with our room. All the staff were excellent.

My dinner and breakfast were perfect. I had a very generous helping of food each time. There must be a really good chef there. The room was really nice and so cosy which I was delighted about as it was a cold night.

Village pub, but with large bedrooms. Breakfast was lovely. Dinner was served but they recommended another hotel close by and we had a lovely dinner. Village was quiet, which was good as the hotel is on the main road.

I was running late to reach the Gordon Arms before they stopped serving dinner but Susan arranged for the chef to stay back to make dinner for me, what an amazing thing to do and it was greatly appreciated indeed. The food was lovely as was breakfast, the room was immaculate and the beer went down a treat after a very long day!!!! With thanks to everyone at the Gordon Arms Hotel.

The breakfast was beautifully presented but not of the best quality. We would prefer to pay more for a tasty Scottish fry up! The whisky capital inn breakfast at Dufftown was superb - check out their suppliers. Location ideal and bedroom spacious and comfy.
