Staff were all very friendly and hardworking. Food generally was a high standard and lots of it. Breakfast was ok but due to being the only couple in the hotel we did not receive a full cooked breakfast as expected - limited to tinned tomatoes, although fresh tomatoes were on the menu, and no effort made to supply them.

Excellent choice. First visit, but definitely not the last. The hosts are welcoming, friendly, and extremely helpful. The hotel location is within couple of minutes walk of Dunster Castle, and easily access with parking. Dining was superb, lovely Sunday roast dinner, and breakfast was very special. Highly recommended.

Lisa and John are very welcoming. Our room was nice and comfortable. It only had a small couch but that was OK because we found the shared living spaces in the hotel were very comfortable with enormous couches for relaxing in after dinner.

Quaint place with eclectic wall coverings. Very unique items everywhere you look. Room was comfortable and had everything we needed. Breakfast was the best we've had on our trip, not to mention presentation was like a 5 star restaurant. They currently do dinner only 2 nights and wish our stay included one of them. If you're visiting Dunster Castle, you can walk instead of paying £5.50 to park in official lot.

The hotel was very warm and comforting. It was a great stay and I loved the friendliness and attention of the staff. The food was great. I had dinner and breakfast and both were very good. Also the amazing touch which really made my stay even better was the fact that the hotel reimbursed my parking charges for my stay (as they don't have onsite parking).

The hotel clearly have had difficulty in obtaining staff from the surrounding area, - which is severely affecting especially much of rural hospitality venues all around the UK. This has curtailed the usual availability of on-site dinner provision. However, the family run business have gone out of their way to provide a whole package of friendly, comfortable, personal service provision, which was felt as truly genuine, and made the stay so enjoyable.
