Everything we needed was in our bedroom, which was spacious and clean. The food was served promptly, and my partner said it was the best steak he’d eaten for a long time. My smokie was unusual and tasty. We had previously had Sunday lunch at the New Inn, and that was very good too.

Such a wonderful night away, Tess and her team are so warm and welcoming and made our night so special. The food is absolutely excellent and the room was really beautiful, clean and comfortable. The breakfast was really lovely too, beautifully set table, so nice to welcome you in the morning. I really couldn’t fault anything, it was fantastic. I would highly recommend staying here, we will definitely be going back.

We were in the area for work and stayed Sunday night. We arrived late for Sunday lunch and the staff were really nice and nothing was a problem. The food was fantastic and good value. We were very impressed with the room on the top floor. Very big, lovely spacious bathroom with bath tub and separate shower. We would have loved to explore the area, but we only had time to have a quick walk…but what a walk! It is right next to some stunning views and rocks and we saw plenty of wild ponies. Just magical. The breakfast was also fabulous and the staff super friendly. Would love to come and stay for a longer break and explore the area. 100% recommend.
Perfect for rustic breaks in the countryside, an Inn is a small property with basic hotel services and typically traditional decor. Inns are fully licensed and have a bar providing food and drinks in the evening, which distinguishes them from country or guest houses.
Breakfast was vey good choice of cooked and continental. Dinner was very good, The specials were excellent . One night had pork belly and beautifully cooked. We had duck on the 2nd night and wonderfully prepared and cooked. Vegetables were good too. Decent wine list The room and bathroom were cleaned and well maintained. Wireless Internet was not particular good. I might be rural location
First room wifi didn’t work. Owner seemed first annoyed with me but I asked for another room, he gave us a much better, more spacious room. Staff was very nice. Dinner was good.
The staff waiting up for us to arrive after we had a puncture on Dartmoor. The friendly reception when we finally arrived. The breakfast was excellent. The evening dinner was quite remarkable. This good? in the middle of Dartmoor? Wonderful.
Second time we stayed here and hope not the last. Excellent location. Very helpful and pleasant Staff. Very good Dinner and Breakfast of a good standard. Delightful Room.
Breakfast and dinner were both excellent and the staff very obliging. The renovations to the two former bar areas have been done sympathetically, atmosphere retained
location was perfect, in the heart of chagford in an historic inn with masses of character. Food was tasty, rooms clean and staff were very friendly and helpful.
