Nice room and breakfast. Dinner being a Sunday was restricted to 6:00pm but that worked well for our stay eating at 5:30pm. Would stay again.

Great breakfasts, dinners and comfortable room -no complaints here. I stay away a lot for work and try and find small hotels/pubs with room (rather than chains) mainly for the personal touch and for the atmosphere. Happily sat in the bar area after dinner, reading my book and enjoying a local beer!

Breakfast was great. Dinner on our arrival evening was lovely. We took our granddaughter for a birthday treat to see strictly come dancing in Manchester and stayed here instead of the city. So glad we did. The staff were lovely to her.

It was rustic which kept with the rural feeling. There was a canal to walk on. You could travel in to Macclesfield if you wanted something lively or stay in the lodge if you wanted peace and quiet.

Superb location for the venue of the conference we were attending, 200m walk. Ample free parking about the guest house. Quiet surroundings though not far from the main road. Guy and Jan were great hosts. Plenty of nice little thoughtful touches that we appreciated like the fresh milk and the granola bites. Great breakfasts that certainly set us up well for the day. Can't wait to have the excuse to return
