Located just outside Thornbury and within 5 km of Thornbury Castle, The Anchor Inn features a garden, non-smoking rooms, and free WiFi throughout the property.

A continental breakfast is available daily at the inn.

Breakfast provisions were provided, including soya milk for a lactose intolerant guest. The breakfast was more than adequate and we also enjoyed an evening meal there too. We loved the location in a quiet town by the river in Devon - great for walks after dinner.

The location was perfect for what I needed. Easy walk from the train station and close to the start of my race (Wild Horse 200) at the Boat Inn. The bedroom itself was spacious and comfortable. There was a bath. There was no breakfast provided but as I had a 5am start to my day, this was not expected. There are no staff so access instructions are sent to you via text message on the day of your arrival. It worked fine for me.

Close to the racecourse where we went for an evening meet, ample parking, next to the Inn, so convenient for food or an evening drink, but the Lodge itself was very quiet. Chepstow itself was a lovely town to visit.

The location of the Inn was great for us. It was good value for money but would have liked a bedroom upstairs with a better view of Chepstow Castle. I would good there again

Very friendly welcome at this excellently located inn. Large, comfortable room which was perfect for my 3 night stay. Good choice for breakfasts which were sufficient to last you for most of the day. Would definitely stay here again and highly recommend.

A very atmospheric traditional Inn, with excellent real ales. Lively and fun. It is a very old half timbered building, with ancient hand cut floor boards adding to the character
