Great bathroom and beds were so bloody comfy! Got a free upgrade and the lady who owned the hotel stayed up to let us check in at 11:30pm what a gem!

Really comfortable room, with incredibly friendly staff in the pub -Hannah in particular- shame we arrived so late and left so early.

Located only 3 km from Stansted Airport and 500 metres from Hatfield Forest in Takeley, The Green Man Boutique Hotel features free WiFi access and private parking. Airport parking is available on request. Please note that our Deluxe accommodation is located a short drive from the other rooms.

We were taking an early morning flight from Stansted so the location was perfect. The room is in the roof area of a very old building so low doors and ceilings. Check in was via a key code which was sent in advance and all went smoothly. Beds were comfy, the room warm and perfect for an overnight stay. I would have preferred a shower but there was only a bath but it wasn't a problem, it was in the description, everything was clean and fresh. We ate downstairs in the bar, the food was great and if anyone deserves a mention is was the lady working the bar, she was a diamond, very pleasant and friendly and made the stay even more enjoyable. Bear in mind the building is 400 years old so it has its own character. 5 stars.

Interesting old house sympathetically converted into a pleasant guest house. The antidote to bland travel inns! Friendly and welcoming host. My room, traditionally furnished, was comfortably large enough for an easy stay of three nights. Good bathroom with powerful shower. Everything spotlessly clean and the daily housekeeping was excellent. Good breakfast. Easy parking. If you have an electric car then the Tesla and Applegreen charging station at Birchanger Green is just a couple of miles away - I used it twice.

We had two rooms - one double and one twin - both of which were spacious, clean and comfortable. We ate dinner in the restaurant which was excellent. All the staff were kind, helpful and always smiling so we could not recommend them any further than 10+. Having to leave early the next morning, we were greeted by the manager with a free takeaway coffee for my husband, most welcome and unusual service!

Very nice property, very clean and lovely new carpets, pillows were a bit flat for me as I only like one pillow & two made it too high, best take my own next time. The owners were lovely as was the housekeeper, so friendly and the breakfast was first class. Highly recommend this guest house.
