I think normally the host would wait for you to show the cabana. However we had to find it ourselves and it took us forever. There are no signs and no one in the town knows the place

Nice garden with friendly lamas.
The electric heater in our room was not powerful enough for subzero temperatures at nights, but the potbelly stove worked fine.
A few minutes walk to Market Square, where you can buy warm clothes if you travel unprepared for Argentinian winter. The price is however not negotiable.

Charming property, with beautiful garden and patio and shared area to make hot drinks and use of fridge. But most of all, it was our host Malka and her husband, who were exceptionally kind and helpful. I wasn’t well during our stay and Malka was very caring and spent a lot of time arranging a doctor’s visit.

I wish I could have loved this place like earlier reviewers but I did not. There is a pretty garden and my room was pleasant. If the friendly, helpful Andrea and Daniel mentioned by other reviewers ever lived at the property they don’t now, and I only saw the owner briefly during my stay. It’s just rooms all let out and you can use the kitchen. It was not what I expected from a “Posada” nor like other Posadas I stayed at . As a solo traveller this was a disappointing, lonely experience when I was here alone. When I had a problem it would have been nice to have had people around. The lock to both my door and the front door needed a particular “ knack “ which I struggled to achieve and at one point wondered if I was going to remain locked out in the street with no phone to ask for help. The Wi-Fi was down in the evening and again in the morning. Payment can only be made in cash which means the tourist exemption for VAT doesn’t apply making this more expensive than I had expected and means you must carry round huge wads of cash. I realise these are very personal experiences and a family, group or even a couple may have had a very different experience here, but then my review can only be my personal experience. I moved from here to a private room in a hostal which suited me much better and for which I paid by credit card.

I don't know where to start. Our stay was amazing. The place was peaceful and quiet. The bed was super comfortable the room was really cute.
We had an amazing dinner. The host were friendly, know really well the area. You can see they love what they do. The love and take care of the llamas. We had the chance to go on a small hikes with the llamas in the morning which was an unforgettable experience. On top of that we had really pleasant chats with the host about what they do, the area, the llamas etc...
Really beautiful and cozy Hosteria.
We stays just one night and we had a great time.
The owner was a kind a nice person, helps us with everything we ask her.
I'll recommend stay here 10 over 10 times
Clean and unbelievably cosy. Tere made us feel like we were at our mams place from the moment we arrived. Her and her husband have built this unique place and created an unmissable place to stay. Comfortable, relaxed and full of charm. Homemade bread and jam and freshly squeezed juice in the morning is a winner too
Just everything. Fabricio and his wife are so nice and lovely, the food for dinner was amazing and there is so much love in this place! Every detail is made with so much love and passion, everything looks beautiful and the Staff is so very friendly and loving. My friend instantly said that this is the best place she ever stayed in. Places like this are not so often..... It really is a treasure.
Everything was absolutely perfect!! We truly loved our stay at the Hosteria Maimará. The attention of the staff was top notch, the breakfast very complete (with pastries, fruits, cereals, savoury options, etc.), the room was extremely comfortable, and the whole Hosteria is just gorgeous! Very good location to visit the area (Purmamarca, Tilcara, Humahuaca, etc.). Our best experience after 2 months of travel throughout Argentina!!
First of all, northwest Argentina is amazing and La Paleta del Pintor (and Maimará in general) is very well located for exploring the Quebrada de Humahuaca.
Beautiful and green place, nice views, very comfortable and with great breakfast and dinner offers.
We were made very welcome by Anto and Maxi. They clearly know about the area and gave us lots of interesting tips to make the most of our trip.
We'll be back!
Our host, Valeria, was super welcoming and kind. Gave us lots of advice of what to do in the area. We played games, sang, and had dinner with other guests. I highly recommend this place!
