The casual and relaxing atmosphere of this charming lodge will immediately make you feel at home. Perfect for wildlife enthusiasts and nature lovers that want to relax and combine long lazy days with a bit of adventure. Track & Trail River Camp offers comfortable riverfront accommodation designed to suit individual requirements. The main lodge building has a lounge, dinner & bar area and with its stunning river views it is a perfect place to dine. In winter, you can sit around the open fire while enjoying your favorite drink or a tasty cocktail. Our 3 ground floor chalets at river front have a private veranda, a spacious sitting & sleeping area and en-suite bathroom. The chalets are decorated with, natural materials to blend in with the surroundings. Our 2 elevated chalets are more secluded and are ideal for a romantic getaway.
Peter Geraerdts is a professional safari guide and wildlife photographer in Zambia. Peter started photography when he got introduced to the beauty of the African bush, about 15 years ago. He is currently running his own safari lodge in South Luangwa, the Track and Trail River Camp, specialized in private photographic safaris. Peter can provide the private use of a customized, specialized and fully-equipped photographic game viewer, with bean bag support systems, to help you attain those magical photographs you have always dreamed of having. In 2003 Peter completed an ‘immobilisation’ course in Zimbabwe with a view of helping wounded animals who had become victims of poachers. Peter is also a member of the HWPO (Honorary Wildlife Police Officers). HWPO officers are non- governmental officers who help out local wildlife authorities with certain conservation projects in their free time.
The South Luangwa National Park Near the north-eastern border of Zambia lies the Luangwa Valley - it supports one of the greatest concentrations of wildlife to be found anywhere in the world. South Luangwa is one of the greatest wildlife sanctuaries in the world. The park’s 9050km2 is host to a wide variety of wildlife birds and vegetation. Walking safaris originated in this park and this is still one of the finest ways to experience nature first hand. The quality of guiding is of a very high standard and all driving and walking guides have to pass an examination and many hours of practical in the field. Wildlife Common animals sighted all year round at Track & Trail River Camp are elephant, giraffe, hippo and crocodile. Within the South Luangwa National Park, lion, leopard and hyena are regularly sighted. Buffalo are abundant and wild dog are not uncommon. The best months to visit for good game viewing are from May to December. However, from January to March all animals are also frequently seen. Safaris: At Track & Trail River Camp you can join us for a walk, morning or a night drive, the safaris are conducted in open safari vehicles to fully experience the surroundings.
