Very small room, but perfect for us since we were out all day sightseeing. It was very clean and well kept daily, near Central St. which is a really good hub for exploring NY. Lots of nice places to eat around. The day we checked out, they kept our luggages for the whole day with no charge. Wifi was good.

This hotel exceeded my expectations. I stayed for 2 nights and loved this hotel. There was a really cozy lounge area with a bar and also a fun club on the 3rd floor called Magic hour. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. The room was a big small, but experienced for Manhattan but it was very clean and the bed was soft to sleep on. It was also very close to Time square and the metro stations. I’d definitely stay again.

Fifth visit to NYC, and the first time having a long walk around Central Park . Made the most of subways visiting The High Line, Citi Field , Brooklyn and Staten Island. Plenty of boutique shops around Midtown. Can be busy so pre plan any tourist spots you want to hit. Not really for those who just want to sit back and relax.

It was great , very exciting , It is quite expensive though and a lot of people trying to sell you trips etc but that is understandable . There is a lot of entertainment and quite safe to walk around at night . Do not drive , there is a lot of traffic. We went to the Star light restaurant , it was amazing you have singing waiters and waitresses ,they were very good, we loves it there. Westway restaurant was also great , a lot of variety to eat there and priced reasonably . Avoid the Hilton Time Square , it is under renovations and the staff there , (Kenny) are not very helpful or friendly . We also went to Central Park, very beautiful ,and there is a lot happening there , we loved it there .

Loved the Whitney Biennial and walking along the waterfront by the World Trade Center. Thought the Tenement Museum was over-rated. Dinner at Dirt Candy was one of the best meals of my life; I would not return to NYC without eating there. Epicerie Boulud in the Oculus at the World Trade Center (great turkey , frisee, and aioli sandwiches and ginger cookies) and Eataly (White Moustache yogurt and caprese breakfast sandwiches) were good for smaller meals and grab & go. We used taxis liberally but would like to work on mastering the subway on the next visit.

"My two-night stay at the Civilian Hotel was nothing short of wonderful. The hotel's boutique style exudes charm, with every detail meticulously curated to offer a unique and delightful experience. The staff deserves special mention for their warm and welcoming hospitality that truly made me feel at home. The hotel's great location on 48th Street, near Times Square, Broadway theaters is an added bonus. The location was great just a couple of blocks away from Penn Station and near Times Square and some good food options. It's also near the convention center and Hudson Yards so it's very convenient if you come into Manhattan via megabus. The staff was very friendly and the bed was extremely comfortable. Also, the unlimited bottled water came in very handy for treks around the city and it was one less thing to worry about. They also have pineapple infused water and coffee in the lobby and some cookies :)

This hotel was in an excellent location in the financial district of Manhattan. Close to subway lines so you can go anywhere once you become used to the New York subway system. Hotel is close to Battery Park and also the Staten Island ferry. More respectfully the World Trade Centre memorial pools , museum and freedom tower , which I visited including a group tour. Easy to get to midtown and Central Park from this location on the subway. Plenty of food places close to the hotel.

The location is perfect for us since we take a train to Penn Station. It is also within walking distance of most Broadway Theaters, which are always on our agenda . Our room was just as advertised, queen bed ,attractive and clean , with a great view. We have stayed at the New Yorker twice, and were pleased with both visits. We particularly enjoy the 24 hour coffeeshop downstairs, Tick Tock, for breakfast. The price was not cheap, but reasonable for New York City.
