Probably the best city i have ever visited , the place is phenomenal. We loved everything abot it but yes, it is pricey . Taxis everywhere instead of using underground or trams. It did set us back some money.

Seriously? This is the greatest city in the country. Amazing public transportation. Central Park alone is a destination in itself. As densely populated as this city is, it is green and filled with shady trees, and unexpected magical spots with fountains, landscaping, grass and other little bits of nature sprinkled throughout the urban landscape. Enough world-class museums to fill a lifetime of visits, architectural heritage, some of the most diverse residents anywhere on the planet, plus Broadway. The big negative would be the service. Terrible. Difficult to pay tips when the service is just so bad. New York is busy but a nice weekend trip to enjoy a play and great food and drinks. If you don't like crowds and city life don't visit NYC. Be prepared for long walks to get around because the traffic is horrendous.

New York is a great place to vacation if you like to walk, sightsee and experience diversity. There is something for everyone. I would highly recommend the 9/11 memorial and surrounding areas, Gotham Comedy Club, BlueHaven Bar and Grill and staying in the Financial District where it is nice and quiet at night.
