The staff were incredibly helpful in making our stay welcoming and comfortable. Their local knowledge for things to see and places to eat were top notch. The beds were very comfortable and our room very spacious. The continental breakfast was very good; the coffee was plentiful and fresh strawberries and blueberries were delicious. We also enjoyed the home baked cookies in the afternoon.

The location of the Jailhouse Inn was just perfect. It was very easy walking distance to the wharfs, restaurants, shops and bars. The breakfast was good - there was a nice variety each morning, plus coffee and freshly baked cookies all day long! The staff were super helpful as well as courteous and friendly. I would definitely recommend this location!

Excellent location , with free car parking, in walking distance of the wharf areas and downtown. Close to some lovely restaurants Rooms very spacious and clean, beds are comfy Small touches such as free cookies and fruit with abundance of coffee &water were lovely Very quaint and quiet . Newport has so much to offer from fabulous beaches, cliff walk, nature reserves, and much more Would recommend it!

The best part might have been that the place has regular cable for the rare time we were in the room. The location was great if you're willing to walk a bit. Right in the heart of downtown but far enough away that it was nice and quiet at night. The only time we used the car was to go to the beach. Breakfast was provided every morning and the afternoon cookies were a night tough.
