While they are friendly and will even accompany you on the trail behind the house, if you are afraid of dogs then this is not the property for you. Enjoy a hot, home-cooked breakfast (included in room fee) served family style on the porch overlooking the Hollow before a full day exploring the mountains and all that this beautiful area has to offer. (In winter Breakfast is served in your room.) Breakfast is fresh and home-cooked., served family-style. Choices (you choose one for everyone) are: 1. Buttermilk pancakes, sausage, butter, jam and syrup; 2. Eggs (fried or cheese omelets, bacon, grits, buttermilk biscuit or toast, butter and jam. 3. Light Fare: morning glory muffins and seasonal fruit. Each person gets their own pot of coffee or tea (black, green or herbal; our tea list includes 38 different teas). I love creating en plein air watercolors and pastels, walking in the woods with my dogs, and writing. I am a professional naturalist and author of hiking guides although my most recent job was running a food pantry and before that a farmers and artisans market and community farm.

Hidden Hollow is well named. No neighbors are in sight except one and only in winter when the leaves are down. Hidden Hollow Lane is a one track dirt road so the feeling is remote yet convenient to the highway for quick trips to Franklin, North Carolina (gem capital of the world) or quaint Clayton, Georgia. Both villages have great retail stores, breweries, and restaurants. And I am surrounded by thousands of acres of wilderness with waterfalls, hiking trails (including the Appalachian Trail) and fantastic views.
