The Dolls House is so central and generally quiet with no through traffic going past the door. Although some locals will squeeze through the lane but at a snails pace. In the summer, you can leave the kitchen door open to the street and take a cold drink on the cobbles outside the house … you probably won’t be disturbed! The Doll’s House - suitable for a couple/small family. This typical village house is in the heart of the historical part of Tavira with cobbled streets and tiled houses where the locals can be seen sitting on a camping chair outside watching the world go by. Think of a bustling town thronging with restaurants and cafe’s, and a simple but comfortable retreat with space to chill, and relax after a hot day at the beach. Kitchen/diner, spacious sitting room with sofa bed and a double bedroom. The property has recently been redecorated with a new kitchen scheduled to be installed in February. It’s been comfortably furnished with a dining table to seat 6, a huge sofa and funky chairs and It is a perfect holiday home for a couple or a work from home place. The house is on three floors accessed by a solid marble staircase so not suitable for particularly elderly people. Additionally the bedroom is in the Eaves and so you’ll need to watch for the sloping roof. Beach towels are available and are in the guest toilet. Please don’t take the white ones to the beach as the sunscreen discolours them. Thanks.

We are always available for our guests and you will be able to send us messages at anytime. You will be sent the code to the key box on the day of arrival so that you don’t need to stress on arrival if flights delayed for example. OA weekly clean is done for guests staying more than 7 nights. This includes changing beds and towels.

The street is a meeting point for the locals and their dogs. It’s all part of the charm. Restaurants and cafe’s are less than a minute walk. Our favourite pastime is to sit on the river at Cafe 22 in the late afternoon and enjoy the warmth of the sun but you will find your own favourite. We have a guide to restaurants in Tavira which will be sent to you electronically. Most guests find it really useful. The Gilau River is just a short walk and is lined on both sides with eating and drinking places. There are several mini markets and Pingo Doce, a large supermarket at only 4 minutes walk where you can get pretty much everything and a good fish and meat selection. You can arrive in Tavira from Faro airport by train and not even need a car for your stay. There are bike and scooter rentals close by. If you hire a car, then you can park on a nearby street - just above us, there is free parking near Ti Maria and the church. The ferry to the beach is on the opposite side of the river - 5 minutes walk … in summer, the queues are long so good to go early. You can get a water taxi to and from the beach if you call ahead. These are 15 Euros each way.
