Tara Cottage is a beautifully appointed and private one bedroom house. Enjoy peace and tranquility situated in the rural surrounds of Mangawhai Village and Mangawhai Heads, both of which are an under a 10 minute drive away. Newly build to a high standard, it is perfect for that romantic getaway. Outside there is a two person spa, outdoor fire/ pizza oven, bbq and garden furniture while inside there is a full kitchen with a Nespresso coffeemaker. Tea and coffee are provided along with bread, jam and milk. A bottle of French bubbles is waiting in the fridge for you to enjoy. A tv with Netflix is in the sitting area along with a few games and books. Both the bedroom, kitchen and sitting room have French doors opening out to the covered decks which surround the house. There is a laundry with washing machine and tumble dryer for your convenience. Luxury linen, towels and robes complete the picture.

As your host, I would like to introduce myself. My name is Penny and I have lived in Mangawhai for the last 20 years since I moved here from England. I live a few minutes away and would love to make sure that your stay in this beautiful area is as special as it can be. Mangawhai has much to offer in the way of beaches, walks and restaurants. The surf beach at Mangawhai Heads (a 10 minute drive) is well worth a visit, beautiful views out to the ‘Hen and Chicks’ islands and a lovely walk along to the start of the cliff top walkway. The further stretch of the beach is an off lead dog area. If you prefer calmer waters, the estuary is a great place for a swim. Langs and Waipu cove beaches are also stunning. If you want a bush walk, check out the Tanekaha tracks found down King Road 5 minutes drive away. If golf is more your thing, Tara Cottage is a few minutes to the Mangawhai golf club. There is also one in Waipu and of course Te Arai Links which has the worlds largest putting green. If you are interested in the local history, Mangawhai museum is worth a visit along with the Scottish museum in Waipu. A visit to the two Mangawhai markets will occupy a Saturday morning and maybe a tasting at one of the local wineries?
