Everything! This was a rustic getaway that was 'back to nature' and we loved it. Our host could not have been more charming. He was friendly, informative, and he made sure we had a most wonderful breakfast to start the day. Our room was huge with...

Company information

Daphne & Philip have been running the Lodge since November 2017. We much enjoy welcoming guests from all over the world and making their stay comfortable and interesting.

Property information

The Lodge offers quality B&B accommodation with character. Enjoy warm and relaxed hospitality; a comfortable bed and a hearty breakfast before exploring Murchison and the surrounding countryside. The warm and welcoming timber Lodge is set on four quiet acres of mature wooded gardens and paddocks. Surrounded by mountains and bordering the Buller River it feels miles from anywhere but a five minutes walk will have you in "down town" Murchison with it's pubs, cafés and eclectic shops. Stop for a couple of nights - there's plenty to do and you can return at the end of the day to friendly faces and a cold beer on the veranda or a wine in front of the log fire.

Neighbourhood information

Murchison is a small township (pop. 502) that still retains its Kiwi charm. It’s history is based on gold and farming – interrupted by a massive earthquake in 1929. Visit the local museum for all the stories. Increasingly, visitors are finding Murchison has much more to offer than being just a convenient stopover. It is world renowned for the activities its rivers and the surrounding area provides. We can recommend all the following activities: - The natural flames experience - River rafting - The swing bridge with its lovely walks and Jet boating - The Nelson lakes - Kayaking - Fly fishing - Biking or hiking the Old Ghost Road - Walking one of the lovely walks in and around town - Golfing
