Having lived in Maastricht for over 50 years now, it must be evident I (still) am in love with this wonderful town. Already in 1999 I started renting out (holiday) accommodations over here, because I wanted to share this love for my hometown with as many people as possible. Nowadays I mainly rent out “regular” accommodations, such as student houses and apartments for University staff and expats. Nevertheless I still manage a few quality properties for short stay, because I simply enjoy to hear the enthusiastic storeys from my guests whenever I have hosted them over here, even if it has been only for a couple of days. Hospitality runs through the vanes of many Maastricht citizens. Somehow that must be related to the rich history this town went through. Find out yourself and let me be your guide and host.

This beautiful city apartment, part of a monument, is located on a small square in the very heart of the West centre in just half a minute walking distance form Maastricht’s main and most known square, called the Vrijthof. Behind, beyond any doubt, the smallest façade one can find in Maastricht, there is an entrance hall which takes you to an antique stairway leading up to the first floor. Here one can find a spacious living room (some 60 square meters) with wooden floor, tastefully furnished and decorated with art. There’s one window partly overlooking the Vrijthof and another huge one overlooking the patio of this lovely mansion. On this floor there furthermore is a big (some 25 square meters) fully equipped kitchen (fridge, freezer, stove, oven, dishwasher, etc.) and a guestroom. From the living there is a spiral staircase which takes you up to the second floor. Here you can find an average sized bedroom (some 20 square meters) + a private bathroom (shower / bathtub, washbasins and toilet) and the master bedroom (some 30 square meters) + a private bathroom (double shower, bathtub, washbasins, toilet and bidet). Both bedrooms come with a double bed (each).

In a radius of some 500 meters one can find dozens of historic buildings, the city theatre, basilicas, churches turned into an hotel or bookstore, several museums, a lot of other places of interest, the vast city centre shopping are, numerous cosy pubs (with or without sunny terraces) and quality restaurants. Nevertheless the apartment itself breathes serenity and most of all tranquillity, and therefore is almost an oasis in a vibrating environment. All in all this 270 square meter antique house with it’s very modern (180 square metres) apartment offers an ideal basis from where off to explore lovely Maastricht, by quite some people captioned to be the smallest metropole in the world.
