Only recently we started renting out our lovely holiday home. It is beautifully situated in the greenery, at the foot of the dunes and close to the beach. It has everything you need: good (box-spring) beds that can be used as 3 double or 6 single beds, a fully equipped kitchen with Nespresso and filter coffee machine, two bathrooms and a cozy sitting area with a fireplace overlooking the beautiful and spacious garden with space for the whole family. For the brave among us, there is even a small pool (with hot and cold water) that can also be used as a sunbathing area, and a trampoline. The cottage is suitable for families with children and groups. You can walk straight into the dunes from the house. The beach is 5 minutes by bike. There is also a lovely authentic bakery within a 10-minute walk, a large supermarket within a 5-minute drive and the villages of Burgh and Haamstede have many restaurants and shops. In addition, the historic city of Zierikzee is a 20-minute drive away, which also has good restaurants and is also suitable for culture and shopping.
We are enthusiastic travellers, enjoy exploring new places around the globe and uncovering little known cafés and restaurants with good local food. These days we travel less and are are renting out our beautiful holiday home in Burgh Haamstede where we look forward to hosting you!
The house is located in a beautiful, quiet green park (not commercial, many houses are for private use). From the cottage you can walk straight into the dunes and you are right at the start of many beautiful walking routes through the dunes. The beautiful wide beach of Westenschouwen is a 5 minute drive / 10 minute bicycle ride away. There is a wonderful authentic bakery (Sonnemans) within a 10-minute walk which sells the loveliest treats. Furthermore, a large supermarket (Albert Heijn), bicycle rental, liquor store and drugstore are 5 minutes by car or bicycle. The villages of Burgh and Haamstede offer a multitude of restaurants and shops. In addition, the historic town of Zierikzee is a 20-minute drive away, which is definitely worth a visit. A bus (line 133) stops on the Hogeweg, about 300 meters from the house. In addition, there is a private parking space next to the house for guests, and at the entrance of the park (about 70 meters from the house) there are about 6 free parking spaces for users of the park.
