La Volpina is a typical southern Italian villa surrounded by a large and varied garden which includes fruit trees, pine trees and 7 olive trees from which we make our own olive oil. We can accommodate small families, couples or single people. There is free access to internet via wireless throughout the house. The bedrooms are bright and designed for comfort with elegant furniture. Each bedroom has its own bathroom. There is a large living room and sunny terrace overlooking the fruit trees ideal for relaxing and where you can enjoy a delicious breakfast.

Born and brought up in a small sea-side town in Scotland which thrives on tourism and where every second house is a B&B, I learnt the meaning of home from home hospitality, where guests, even for a short stay, become part of the family. My surname Tod in Scotland means fox so when I met my husband whose surname is Volpe also meaning fox I knew it was destiny! Therefore our B&B couldn’t be called anything else other than La Volpina – the little fox.

Discover the beauty of the Itria Valley characterized by the famous trulli, typical and ancient cone shaped buildings, that nestle in a flourishing vegetation where olive trees grow. We are also ideally situated for visiting the beach with a choice of coast, the Adriatic and the Ionic both are about 40 minutes away. Martina Franca is an elegant town built on one of the Murge hills 431m above sea level. Its characteristic historical centre with small white washed streets and alleyways boasts some elegant examples of late baroque like the San Martina basilica and Dukes Palace. Each summer Martina Franca plays host to the Festival della Valle d’Itria where operas and ancient musical recitals take place. Locorotondo just 5Km from Martina Franca is an enchanting village whose historical centre is circular as its name suggests, loco (location) rotondo (round), also famous for its delicious white wine. Alberobello, 13Km away, is the capital of “trulli land” the unique buildings are made using a lime mortar base and flat stones that form the conical roofs. Cisternino is a 12Km drive and is a charming small town whose many restaurants and pubs provide live entertainment in the summer.
