Donegal is a beautiful area, rugged and less crowded in April. Would highly recommend this area, particularly to people who like walking/hiking opportunities. Slieve League is a must and Glenveagh castle and gardens, which are open, are charming. Other attractions in the area are worth a visit.

North west Donegal has spectacular beaches without any doubt. There are far too many houses built on land that has sea views, this has to be ignored by any visitors.
The Fanad peninsula was the best place, not as developed.

O' Donnell castle or Donegal castle was the highlight of our stay, plus a visit to Slieve League, as it was raining so much we just travelled around in the care, taking in the views as we could. Donegal is a great County to visit but you need the sunshine to see it at its best. If you visit Ireland, Donegal is a must place to go. Tara Hotel in Killybegs is the place to have your meals, great food great staff.
This is an exceptionally appointed hotel and located in silvan surroundings by Lough Eske a few miles outside the town of Donegal. The staff were most welcoming from the moment we walked through the door and could not have been more friendly and this includes all staff who bade us a 'good morning' whenever they passed inside or outside the hotel. The whole dining experience whether in the main restaurant or bar area was a delight. Servicing of our room was undertaken daily and most thoroughly.
The location was perfect, right in the heart of lovely Donegal town. The room was large and very comfortable, as was the double bed. Everything was spotless and seemed new. The WIFI worked well, and we had a large TV, fridge and tea and coffee-making facilities. We picked up the key at the local SPAR supermarket a few metres from Donegal House. I would highly recommend Donegal House for comfortable accommodation in a very central location.
Donegal Town House is a perfect choice as it is 2 mins from town on foot and perfectly situated for all the major routes.
The house is very comfortable with lovely views from the living room window and really comfy beds.
Aidan, our host, was very informative, and we had a lovely welcome pack awaiting our arrival.
This place is a dream house. I was really hoping for an Irish country setting and it fulfilled that desire to the T. It's setting is unbelievable and so very quiet. Close enough to Donegal (my favorite Irish town) and yet set apart by being out in the country.
We were attending a concert in the Hotel. When we booked in the receptionist was very friendly and welcoming.
Our room was easy got to, beautiful views overlooking the bay. it was cozy and clean. Excellent location central to all actives within Donegal town
I love staying on the Irish countryside. This location was perfect for that but was also so close to Donegal Town, Killybegs and Ardara. Best of both worlds. The house was cozy and clean and had everything we needed. We would definitely stay here again!
What I've come to expect when I visit Ireland is a warm welcome by the host. Steve did not disappoint. His humor coupled with kindness was the perfect combination.and his B&B home was a three minute walk to Donegal city center. Brilliant.
Spotlessly clean, spacious , nicely decorated room, with good sized bathroom, and good shower. Comfortable bed. Excellent location, minutes walk to Donegal town centre.Lovely friendly staff. Excellent breakfast . Highly recommend.
This was a lovely cottage with everything we needed and more. Our hosts could not have been more welcoming and helpful. The location was a convenient 15 minute walk to town or a half hour scenic walk. Would highly recommend.
We had a beautiful room with an amazing bathroom. The food was lovely with an extensive menu. All the staff at The Mill Park Hotel were friendly and helpful. Great location, just a short walk in to Donegal town.
Excellent location in the center of Donegal Town. Convenient to restaurants, shopping, attractions.
The staff was professional, friendly and very helpful, especially Teelin at the reception desk!
Heeney's is about 2 miles from Donegal town, so a short drive. The room was very good, and the breakfast, included, was excellent. Breda is the consummate host, you won't find anyone better.
Beautiful location within 5-10 min drive of Donegal town. The hotel is stunning with very clean and high end rooms, staff were very friendly and spa facilities were great.
