In Aegina, Vagia was the main inspiration for Zorz Sarri when she wrote the famous short stories "The Treasure of the Vagia" and "The Strong Shoes". It is ideally located for those who want to visit some of the historical and archaeological monuments of the island, such as the temple of Aphaia, which is within walking distance and Agios Nektarios just 3 km from the village. Based on archaeological finds from excavations, it has been proven that Vagia was inhabited since the 5th millennium BC. In this picturesque village you will meet the small harbor of the village on the left is a long sandy beach, while on the right of a smaller ....Aegina is an island in close to Piraeus (16,5 n .miles ) with rich natural beauties and history going back to 3.000 B.C

Xenia is located in the northeast of Aegina, in Vagia,facing the clear emerald waters of Saronic Bay that lay only a hundred meters away.This place is a paradise for quiet holidays (after all, if you feel like more action, in half an hour's reach there are the liveliest places of the island-then back to your tranquillity again!). Around Xenia all you hear is the birds and the crickets , all you feel is the scent of the sea , the grass , the flowers.... Xenia is located in a such a quiet ,that will make your troubles fly away and fill you with unforgettable memories , thus leaving you in perfect state of mind .Vagia is a small picturesque fishing village, located on the northern side of the island of Aegina, at the foot of Prophet Elias, between the ancient temple of Aphaia and the sandy beach, surrounded by pine forest.Vagia is a wonderful destination for relaxing, tranquil holidays and ideal for family holidays. Guests who want various forms of nightlife and entertainment have easy and quick access to Souvala, Agia Marina or even Aegina.

Neighbourhood information

The greatest part of the - surrounded by crystal clear waters- island is covered with small mountains (the highest of which is Oros or Prophitis Ilias - at 539 m). On the southeast there is a plain filled with pistachio trees (among the principal products of the island, together with the figs, olives, grapes, almonds and other agricultural products)-The other products being the ceramics and pottery , a tradition through the centuries. Many physical harbours are shaped among its rocky coasts. According to the Greek Mythology , Zeus fell in love with the sea nymph Aegina , starting a generation that gave birth to Iliade's heroes Achille and Ajax . Aegina's rich history can be traced through several remaining monuments ( ancient ports and temples-the most famous of them being the Temple of Afea in the notheast) , Byzantine era churches and monasteries, till more recent neoclassic building (the founder of the modern Greece governor Kapodistrias, formed his first government in Aegina). A visit to the island's Museum at the Port of Aegina will give you an overall look of its history.
