rennovated village house to rent in the beautiful village of Galatas. Live life in an authentic Greek village with all ammenities close at hand. The closest beach is 5mins by car and Galatas itself has Tavernas- bars and shops. The house is fully equipped and offers a great base for exploring the island of Kythnos.
Hi I am Mike , married to a wonderful Greek lady, who ended up buying a wreck on a Greek island and lovingly restored a traditional cycladic house which is yours to enjoy. To my deep regret I am earning my living in Brussels Belgium so can unfortunately not spend as much time on the wonderful island of Kythnos as I would like. But rest assured Manoli & Molly will be there to welcome you, provide the keys and show you round the house. If you need anything during your stay you can always them. I am happy to provide you with recos regarding beaches , restos, bars, hikes …...
Kythnos is in many ways a unique Cycladic islands - it has preserved it´s traditions and allows you to share them generously. The stone house is located in Galatas a part of the village of Dryopida. About 550 people live in Dryopida and you will find some bars, Tavernas, supermarket, bakery in the village. Galatas is 10mins by car to the closest beach and provides easy access to the capital Hora and port of Meirhas. Dryopida is located 5 Km from the port of Merchias The nearest beach is 10 mins by car From Dryopida there is bus service from July to September but the best way to fully enjoy the island is to hire a car or scooter But it is perfectly possible to get around by walking- hitching - taking the bus or using one of 3 island taxis
