The island is approximately 85.5 square kilometers, and there are about 10,134 full-time residents, most live in the town of Mykonos which also draws the most tourists. Sailing and windsurfing are favorite activities on the northern coast. The island attracts a jet-set crowd, rich history, and vibrant nightlife. July and August are its busiest months of the year when tourists and cruise passengers converge on the island.
