Mark - welcome to our family cottage in the lovely village of Snettisham
Welcome to York Cottage which has been in our family for over 40 years. With its open feature fireplace in the sitting room to the fully stocked kitchen to create that Sunday roast its a home from home for sure. The sitting room is complete with its open fire and Sky TV/Netflix is included for your entertainment, the dining room has a small dining table and chairs with an occasional single bed stored in the room should you require a further bed. Leading to the recently updated kitchen / utility room with all the equipment required to create that culinary delight including microwave and air fryer. The utility room is complete with downstairs toilet and washing machine. The conservatory leads to the garden and is the ideal place to enjoy that glass of wine. Upstairs there is a large double bedroom at the front of the cottage and a smaller double bedroom at the rear of the cottage which leads directly to the upstairs bathroom complete with large shower cubicle (PLEASE NOTE YOU HAVE TO WALK THROUGH THE SECOND BEDROOM TO ACCESS THE UPSTAIRS BATHROOM BUT STILL HAVE FREE ACCESS TO THE TOILET DOWNSTAIRS FOR THE FRONT BEDROOM) Off street parking is available at the front of the house.
Over 40 years ago when i was 19 years old my father gave me a dad talk 'son you need to buy a house' when at the time my life revolved around motorbikes and cars this was a bit 'left field'. But buy one i did and that was when York Cottage was purchased and its still in the family now. This is now our second home and we live a reasonable distance from Snettisham but still very much have strong ties to Snettisham and visit as often as we can. I have a strong passion for all things motorbikes and drag racing and am now lucky enough since retiring to indulge in these hobbies more plus working on our houses. We never originally planned to run a small business but York Cottage will always be part of our life and we had so many requests to stay it made complete sense to open up the house to wider guests which we did 18 months ago. Its proven to be a great success with Julie looking after the house for us locally. I hope you consider our charming little cottage for your well earned holiday - regards Mark
From award winning pub (Rose & Crown) and restaurant (The Old Bank) to Snettisham beach, Wild Ken Hill and Snettisham Fam Park there is something for everyone on your doorstep. For that quintessential English village experience look no further. Peaceful and centrally located in the beautiful village of Snettisham. With pubs and local amenities all within walking distance and if you fancy a longer walk its 1.5 miles to Snettisham beach and Wild Ken Hill is literally at the end of the road (hosting Springwatch on BBC in). Close to local attractions including Snettisham park, Sandringham, Lavender Fields Heacham and 'sunny' Hunstanton with its famous beaches. The village of Snettisham has all local amenities you will need with award winning pubs and restaurants, fish and chip shop and a small supermarket. Fancy a nice afternoon stroll and your spoilt for choice from a leisurely walk up to the church to take in the views to a walk in Ken Hill Woods and if you fancy a little bit longer stroll then make your way down the road to Snettisham beach to explore the nature reserves (circa 2 miles walk to the beach). York Cottage is the ideal base for you to explore North West Norfolk a very beautiful part of the U.K. The Kings residence Sandringham is a 10 minute drive or take the coast road to explore the lovely villages and beaches - Thornham, Blakeney, Wells nerxt the Sea etc. Then on your drive back why not pop into The Host Arms in Burnham Market for a bit of celebrity watching or explore the quaint old world charm shops. Regular bus services run between Kings Lynn and Hunstanton (please check locally for timetable as subject to seasonality changes). The nearest bus stop is easily accessible at the top of Station Road (5-10 minute walk)
