The village of Wootton has a selection of pubs and handful of shops catering for last minute needs, including a grocery store, a chemist and Post Office, along with a renowned fish and chip shop, ideal for days no one wants to volunteer to do the cooking! Firestone Copse is nearby and well-known for its red squirrels and wildlife. Whilst Woodside Bay beach is only a 15-minute walk. A part shingle, part sandy bay, this offers fantastic views across the Solent to Portsmouth’s landmark Spinnaker Tower, that forms an impressive backdrop to this busy shipping channel. The local forests can be explored by foot or on horseback and for cyclists there is a choice of challenging off road bridleways, peaceful byways and level, purpose-made tracks running along former railway lines directly from the property. A short drive will bring you to the seaside town of Ryde, which has a good selection of individual shops, restaurants, bars, tea rooms and a large sandy beach.
