Neighbourhood information

St Margarets Hope is one of the larger villages in Orkney and has a post office, shops, bars and restaurants. There are regular film nights in the local hall and even a fish and chip van on a Saturday night next to slipway. There is a regular bus service to the main city of Kirkwall. The Pentland Ferry from Gills Bay to St Margarets Hope is about a 10 minute walk away, there is also a great regular bus service that goes to Stromness via Kirkwall. The nearest bus stop is next to the large boat propellor by the slipway about a minute walk away. Kirkwall is roughly 25 minutes drive from here.
