Three Gables in the lovely village of Newbridge will make a perfect base for large families or groups of friends wishing to spend time together and enjoy a relaxing break at any time of the year with the excellent micro climate of the island often giving weather that is better than elsewhere in the UK. We have wonderful panoramic views from the garden where you can relax and enjoy views of the downs, fields and farmland. We accept 3 pets (additional charges) There is plenty of parking for 4 or more cars and an EV charger ( charges apply). We can book your ferry tickets at great discount prices. There is a damage deposit to pay The patio doors and large windows give a lovely light and airy feel to the house and good insulation and central heating make Three Gables warm and cosy in the cooler seasons. There is a large open plan kitchen dinner with bespoke blue kitchen units, all the equipment, pots and pans and utensils you need to cook up a culinary delight with a large table that comfortably seats 10, perfect for enjoying a group or family meal together. A great place for everyone to gather, cook and socialise.
 The property is not adapted for wheelchairs but is suitable for people with restricted mobility. We are child friendly and have plenty toys and games in the summer house. Three Gables was originally built in 1969, and came to us in 2002, over a period of time we under took to modernise and renovate the property and garden. The renovation was done in a way which reflects our interest in living lightly and sustainably, using recycled materials and installing a high level of insulation to the walls, floor and roof of the house. We fitted solar thermal in 2011 which helps to heat more than 50% of our hot water annually. In 2022 we installed solar PV and a Zappi EV charger and also an eddi to divert excess solar energy to our hot water tank. Any electricity generated that we don't use is fed back into the grid providing green carbon neutral energy. .
Hi, we are Roma and Martin, we’ve been renting out Threegableswestwight since 2013 If you want to contact us about any details about the property or the Island please do. We are both local Islanders and although we've spent considerable time living away from the Island we have always been drawn home to the gentler pace of Island life. For the past 20 years we have been living permanently on the Island. For more than 40 years we have worked together building boats, making furniture, renovating houses and sailing our boat across the oceans. On our boat we've traveled to many different islands they can all have a special feel about them and the Isle of Wight is no exception. Come visit, slow down and relax and find out what we mean. Three Gables present day role as a holiday let is a more recent one as for most of it's life it has been a family home. Built by Martins father some 50 odd years ago as his ideal house to retire to, his parents spent more than 30 years of happy retirement there. They were no strangers to the place though as the land had once belonged to Martins Grandparents and his mother had been brought up in a long since demolished cottage that stood much nearer the road than the present day house. The house came to us in 2002 and over 10 years we undertook an extensive renovation of both the house and the garden which we started to holiday let it in 2013. What makes this House unique is its wonderful location in the peaceful village of Newbridge. We live next door in a house we built in 2019 so are on hand for help and have a wealth of information about the area, just ask.
Newbridge is a quiet village in the western part of the Isle of Wight, No where is too far on the Island and we are a perfect base for visiting all the local attractions. There is a shop two minutes walk away at the local campsite (open March to November), a village shop 1.5 miles away in Shalfleet which is open all year and  three pubs within less than a  two mile walk. The bus stop for the no7 is less than 50 m from the drive. The nearest beach Brook is only three miles and another 1/2 mile brings you  to the  award winning Compton beach, one of the best surfing beaches on the Island, both beaches are famous for hunting dinosaur fossils. Freshwater Bay is close by with its caves which are good for kayaking and coasteering. There are easy drives to local towns for shopping and the many tourist attractions around the island. The county town of Newport is only six miles and historic Yarmouth with plenty of eateries is only three miles away.  Our location is ideal for all the island attractions, close to footpaths and cycleways and many dog friendly beaches, making it a perfect choice for those seeking a relaxing holiday, ideal for those guests wanting a slower pace of everyday life, Island life moves a little slower and calmer.
