Then plan your days out in the beautiful Axe Valley or visit the nearby Jurassic Coast for swimming, fossil hunting or spectacular cliff-top walks. Later, you can also relax in the lounge, browse our extensive bookshelves or listen to vinyl on our record player. Neighborhood info

Colyton is a pretty and charming historic town, nestling in an area of outstanding natural beauty and a gateway to some of the best beaches on the famous Jurassic Coast, a UNESCO World Heritage site. Popular with families, walkers and cyclists, Colyton is also known as the most rebellious town in Devon for its role in the Monmouth Rebellion in 1685. You can find out more about its colourful past at the local Heritage Centre. Today, Colyton has a population of just over 2,000 people with a wide range of amenities, including pubs, cafes, a butcher, fishmonger, general store with post office, garden shop, pet accessories shop, pharmacy and cycle shop. The focal point of the town is the Church of St Andrew, established in Norman times. A big attraction is the recently established Seaton Tramway, which stops at nearby Kingsdon on the other side of the River Coly, just a short walk from The Old Bakehouse and Cottage. A total of 14 different trams run along the line through East Devon’s truly lovely Axe Valley, starting in the seaside town of Seaton, about two miles from Colyton. There is also a bus service which runs through Colyton and serves Seaton, Beer and Axminster
