A spacious 4-bedroom house situated in an elevated position in an attractive village with lovely waterside views. This large home sleeps 8 with, 4 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, large living/dining room, fully-furnished sunroom, balcony and private garden. Ideal for entertaining and enjoying glorious views over Golant village and the beautiful, ever-changing river.
I run Colbeh with my wife, Lucy, and our children Katie and Ollie. I grew up near Fowey and, as our children have grown up, we have enjoyed spending family holidays here, and are now thrilled to be introducing our grandchildren to Cornwall’s many charms.
Golant has a friendly local pub, The Fisherman's Arms, and Paddle Cornwall SUP - a canoe, kayak and paddleboard hire company. As well as being a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, Golant is situated in the heart of du Maurier country, with Castle Dor at the top of the hill, The House on the Strand in nearby Tywardreath and the Rebecca and My Cousin Rachel set just a couple of miles away. The historic local church of St Sampson is well worth a visit – built in the 13th century and rebuilt in the early 1500s. For walkers, there is easy access to some dramatic parts of the South West Coastal Path and the Hall walk around the entrance to the River Fowey. The Eden Project and Tregrehan Gardens are nearby and slightly further afield, The Lost Gardens of Heligan. The South Cornish Coast has many beautiful, safe, sandy beaches. Colbeh is spoilt with a number of these lovely beaches on its doorstep including, Readymoney, Polkerris, Par and Crinnis Beach at Carlyon Bay all within a 10 minutes’ drive from the property. For golfers, there are a number of challenging courses nearby offering breathtaking sea views including, Carlyon Bay, St Austell and Lanhydrock.
