A traditional Yorkshire cottage with period character, open fireplace (gas log stove) and beamed ceiling. Providing self catering accommodation for up to three. “Small but with a big Welcome”. Fully modernised making it very cosy and welcoming. Situated down a small quiet private cul-de-sac of just 8 cottages it has ample parking for several cars. Nestling in the Yorkshire Pennine hills facing easterly across Yorkshire. This lovely village boasts several RHA gold awards, many lovely hillside walks and is easily accessible to major routes either side of the Pennines. Many tourist attractions are within a short distance. Two local inns The Travellers Rest and The Blacksmiths Arms provide excellent food options. Just a little further but still within walking distance downhill The Flower Pot, 1 mile, in Mirfield provides award winning ales from local Ossett breweries. The region also offers a myriad of international cuisines.
From the entrance porch you enter the charming character living room with fully fitted kitchen, character beamed ceiling, stone fireplace with gas log stove, the perfect room to relax. For either convenience foods or the home baker / chef, the bright well equipped kitchen/dining room is bound to please. Stairs rise to the first floor leading to the large bedroom with double-size bed and fitted wardrobes. A small second bedroom with 3' divan provides an additional bed or a convenient office space if visiting on business. A bathroom with walk in shower completes the inside of this comfortable cottage. Externally a small patio overlooking the distant views offers a chance to enjoy breakfast outside.
Award winning village surrounded by Pennine countryside, whilst also providing easy access in all directions across the north. Prime location within a short distance of the M62 East/West, and M1 North/South. This excellent road network brings the towns and cities Wakefield, Huddersfield, Leeds, Bradford and Halifax all within around 30-40 minutes reach. York, Sheffield and Manchester also within around an hour – or less travel depending on the time of day.
