A contemporary, cosy townhouse. Hideaway Cottage is a fantastic option for families looking to be close to the seaside. A short drive from the beautiful sand and shingle beach of Sizewell for memorable dog walks. Aldeburgh, Dunwich and Southwold are all just a short drive away, making this cottage a great base for exploring the Suffolk coast.

Situated a few minutes’ drive to the coast and the beaches of Sizewell (dog friendly all year), Thorpeness and Aldeburgh, and half an hour away from the ancient market town of Framlingham. Leiston is a town with numerous shops including Newsons butchers, a greengrocer, Seahawks fish and chip shop, Chris Newson’s art gallery and public houses all within a few minutes’ walk from the front door. Local amenities include the newly renovated Leiston Leisure Centre with gym, sports hall, swimming pool, squash courts and children's soft play The Leiston Film Theatre shows a varied program of films throughout the year as well as an annual pantomime. The Long Shop Museum and Leiston Abbey are both well worth a visit. Leiston Abbey was founded in 1182 by Ranulf de Glanville and is one of Suffolk's most impressive monastic ruins. The architectural ruins are open to the public during daylight hours and the abbey is often the venue for outdoor music concerts. There's also Katie's Pottery Studio with one to one and small group classes available. Thorpeness is just a short drive or walk from the cottage, with a beautiful Meare, The Kitchen Café and Thorpeness Golf Club. And you must not miss Aldringham with fantastic pub meals at The Parrot and Punchbowl. A winding drive through the countryside takes you to Maple Farm in Kelsale with delicious treats and cakes from Pinch Suffolk. Less than 20 minutes' drive from Hideaway Cottage is High Lodge Leisure on the outskirts of Darsham village. Here experienced clay-pigeon shooters can challenge themselves with a range of targets or you can book a lesson if you want to try your hand at something new. If you feel yourself getting peckish food is served in the clubhouse daily and the village pub, the Fox Inn, is highly recommended. Darsham is also home to Two Magpies Bakery where you can pick up some freshly baked sourdough or indulge in a pecan tart.
