Being situated between the Black Mountains and Brecon Beacons, there is no shortage of things to do in the local area. All the photos featured on this page were taken within a short walk of the B&B. The scenery is stunning and the network of paths in the area are countless, yet rarely trodden so you practically have the mountains all to yourself. Within 5 miles of the B&B you will find: Crickhowell, gateway to the Beacons and a wonderful traditional market town with some excellent pubs and shops Talgarth, with its newly restored Mill, offering tours and meals Llangorse Lake, for sailing and outdoor pursuits Glanusk Estate, featuring major sporting and other events such as Polo, Horse Trials, The Green Man Festival etc The Gliding Centre, Pengenffordd Cwmfforest Riding Centre A little further afield but still within 20 mins drive is: Hay-on-Wye, famous literary town and home to the annual Hay-on-Wye book festival each summer Brecon and Abergavenny Market Towns, hosting the Abergavenny Food Festival and Brecon Jazz Festival Pen-y-Fan, the highest mountain in the Brecon Beacons Blaenaevon Iron Works and the Big Pit mine experience

Glan-y-Nant Farm B&B is set in the beautiful Rhiangoll valley, surrounded by the stunning, panoramic Black Mountains in the Brecon Beacons National Park. It is just six miles north of Crickhowell and five miles south of Talgarth, ideally located for walking or tourism. The B&B offers compact but cosy accommodation for one couple, in a private annex situated just off the main farm-house. It comprises a double bedroom, hallway, dining/relaxation area, shower room, with its own separate entrance and a small courtyard, giving you a sense of privacy. The property enjoys doorstep access to a wealth of footpaths and bridleways to take you on a gentle amble up or down the old drovers lanes to one of the local pubs, or more challenging terrain up to the ridges of the unspoilt and isolated surrounding peaks. There is tea, coffee and complimentary welsh cakes available, all left in individual packets for your safety. PLEASE NOTE, this annex is SELF CATERING - there is a fridge/microwave, kettle and toaster and all crockery and cutlery is provided so you are welcome to bring your own food.
