When renovating we ensured that the original charm of the property was retained including the enclosed staircase, latch doors, open fireplace and character beams. The compact galley kitchen has all the appliances for an easy stay including, dishwasher, microwave and cooker. The open plan lounge diner is the perfect place to relax and has direct access onto the garden. Upstairs there are two double bedrooms and a full bathroom with an electric shower over the bath. The cottage benefits from a good sized south west facing garden mainly laid to lawn with a paved outdoor dining area. The cottage is ideally located within a short walk of the idyllic village centre with an award winning restaurant as well as independent shops, bars, pubs and take-aways.

I live on the outskirts of London with my husband and four children. We have owned the cottage in Burnham Market for over 15 years and continue to enjoy family holidays there. I love days out in London with friends, cooking and entertaining. With four children my days are always busy supporting their interests and activities. As a family we enjoy camping and music festivals.

Possibly one of the prettiest villages in North Norfolk, this Georgian village is within easy access to the North Norfolk Coast, still with a quaint feel, with many trendy shops. The village retains a ‘step back in time’ feel with leafy green trees and picturesque village green. Burnham Market has a traditional post office, book shop and hardware shop as well as beautiful boutiques and lifestyle shops, from the butchers and baker to fine dining and deli’s. There’s a superb fishmonger Gurneys with locally caught seafood including Brancaster mussels and Cromer crab - be sure to try the amazing fresh fishcakes. It’s a lovely village to visit to peruse the shops or even for a bite to eat in one of the restaurants. There are a lot of eateries to choose from The Hoste for fine dining or afternoon tea, No Twenty9, The Nelson, award-winning Socius, Burnham Tearoom, or Tilly’s Cafe, there’s something to suit every taste. There is also a children’s play park, hard tennis courts and two parish churches one at each end of the village. If in need of a little pampering why not book a treatment or two at The Hoste Beauty Spa.There is also a dog groomer so you can have the best pampered pooch in the village. With a scenic ride to the coast, you can enjoy lazy days on the beaches of Brancaster or Wells. Alternatively pull on your walking boots and investigate diverse coastal path walks, taking in all the birds and wildlife. Leave the car behind and pop on the Coastal Hopper bus and do a tour from Wells and The Burnhams to Norfolk's west coast. Don't forget to visit Holkham which not only has a superb beach, but majestic Holkham Hall which is well worth a visit: hire a boat on the lake, hop on a bike to explore the woodlands, test your bravery on the rope course, play in the woodland play park, take in the breathtaking rooms and art in the main house or simply enjoy tea and cake in the courtyard cafe.
