Located within walking distance of Bury St Edmunds, Beech Tree Cottage makes an ideal base to explore this historic town and the surrounding villages of Suffolk. This detached, single-storey holiday home has a courtyard and off road parking. Bury St Edmunds, with its cathedral and abbey ruins, and outstanding examples of Georgian architecture, particularly the Theatre Royal, built in 1819, is a rare example of a Georgian playhouse. The town also hosts a Christmas market in early December. There is a launderette, and an excellent range of shops, restaurants and pubs including the Nutshell, England’s smallest pub nearby. Visit National Trust properties nearby with Ickworth Park and Anglesey Abbey and Gardens. Also explore Newmarket for a day at the races, Cambridge and Ely with its 12th century cathedral. Golf is available locally. Shop and pub/restaurant 500 yards.
