1 Friary Cottages is a spacious and attractive sandstone end-cottage set in the historic town of Appleby-in-Westmorland, close to the River Eden, with off-road parking for 3 cars. With 3 bedrooms accommodating up to 5 adults (2 double beds, 1 single bed, 1 cot), this is an ideal cottage for families or groups of friends. Note that the cottage has a standing reservation during the week of Appleby Horse Fair and is unavailable to book. If the Fair dates change unexpectedly, we reserve the right to refuse any reservations made for these dates as they would result in a double-booking. The cottage is ideally located for exploring this quiet and idyllic part of Cumbria and is a short distance from both the Lake District and Yorkshire Dales National Parks.
The cottage is self check-in, but should you get stuck we always respond to calls and messages and we have a very friendly housekeeper on hand locally who looks after cleaning and organising any other help you may need.
Quiet rural community, in a traditional market town. There is a train station a short walk away. Lots to see in walking distance around the town but a car is recommended to reach the Lakes and Dales, however there are plenty of walks straight from the doorstep too.
