Smugglers Loft is a 2 story apartment set within an 18th century building. Access is via a traditional close (corridor) leading from the High Street. The close provides shelter and security from the Main Street as you access our front door. It does also house wheelie bins for the residents, but we do need to store waste in a consumer society somewhere! It’s a unique peek into 18th century life where the close was accessed by all locals to provide access to a shared open space at the back of the properties(sadly no longer there). We do charge a small fee for dogs and can only allow up to 2 SMALL dogs per stay. We respectfully ask owners to let us know when they plan to bring a furry friend.
We hope to welcome guests and share our home away from home with them.
Smugglers Loft is in the centre of a bustling town. We have double glazing but at peak season expect noise. There is a vegan cafe and music venue next door that hosts monthly folk music and small plate events. You can hear the music faintly but the events usually finish by 10pm and they are not frequent events. We encourage our guests to join in as the food and atmosphere is fantastic. Our guests all comment about the excellent central location. We are a few paces from the beach and many local restaurants and bars as well as being located right on the East Neuk Coastal Path.
