Company information

We bought The French Farmhouse in 2014 and began the renovation works. This is the only holiday home that we have, so it has all our care and attention! We always planned for it to be used by others, so it has developed and grown as such. We enjoy welcoming guests to The French Farmhouse providing the facilities and information that will enable them to have a truly wonderful holiday.

Property information

The French Farmhouse is in a peaceful countryside setting yet only 5 minutes by car from the town of Montaigu de Quercy and 8 minutes from Tournon d'agenais. It was lovingly renovated in 2016 to provide ensuite bedrooms and to restore some of the original features of the house to their former glory. The dining room and well equipt kitchen is approx 40 square metres with access onto a first floor balcony which has views to the fields east, a beautiful spot to watch the dawn. From this kitchen you can access the Salon, a cosy room with sofas, TV, DVD, a bookcase of books and draws of board games. There are two bedrooms with en-suites accessed from the landing. On the ground floor there are a further 2 bedrooms both with en-suite. One with a feature bath and the other has a shower. A second kitchen leads onto the terrace and is ideal for outside dining. This is our cooks kitchen, though you choose the kitchen you prefer! The media room with large TV, dvd, karaoke and playstation provides entertainment for all the family. The south garden has a 11 X 5 heated, salt water swimming pool. The adjacent pool house has a BBQ, fridge and dining table. Here you will also find a wet room with shower and toilet facilities. These rooms accommodate 8 people, however there is opportunity for larger groups if you wish, do ask for more information. The French Farmhouse is a quality holiday home which we hope will provide all you need for a perfect stay in this special part of South West France.

Neighbourhood information

This is deepest France where history, culture and gastronomy mingle to make a perfect holiday. The local bastide towns with their narrow streets, delightful architecture and weekly markets are great places to wander. Visit the local vineyards, sample the wines and seek the local producers of fine foods at the local markets. You can visit a different one every day. We have a list of fantastic restaurants to recommend whether you prefer to dine at lunch or dinner... or both! There is music all around, look out for venues to catch a local band and see the Jazz nights and musical events advertised in the Tourist Offices. If you are feeling energetic, cycle the quiet lanes or explore the cycle path by the Lot river. There are cycles to hire and canoes to rent. The tennis court in the local town is available. Set off from the house on a walk, we have maps of local routes that will show you the countryside with the opportunity to spot deer and many different species of bird. The "plage" in Montaigu is a lake with a beach. It is a good place for picnics or there is a cafe. There are pedal boats to hire and a sandy beach, fun for the family.
