Set against the forested backdrop of the Dropt valley and overlooking the tree lined banks of the river, staying at La Grange you will find relaxation in a sea of green in this small corner of the beautiful Perigord Pourpre. The house is a cosy 2 bedroom/3 bed fully furnished stone barn renovation that opens up to 1 hectare of hillside forest and orchard. The thick stone walls and double glazing help keep the heat out in summer and in during the winter. There is a fully equipped kitchen so you can enjoy cooking at your 'home away from home' when not out sampling the local cuisine. There is free Wifi and it's possible to cast your devices to the TV. The parking area is via private driveway and shared with the main house. Follow the hillside paths to enjoy the badminton and Petanque courts. If the season permits, guests are welcome to pick wild herbs, fruit and nuts while exploring or visit the hens for fresh eggs. There is a treehouse, zipline and play area up on the hill which we are happy for children to use when supervised by an adult.

We are Iris (Dutch) and James (N. Irish), we moved here with our 2 young daughters, mainly for the nature, outdoors life and the wonderful food! We live in the main house next door so we're generally nearby to assist the guests, unless out exploring ourselves! We made the move recently, so to any potential home seekers looking for advice during their stay we're happy to share our experience.

La Grange is ideally situated within 10 minutes' walk of Eymet's historic Place Gambetta. You can leave the car behind and all enjoy the regions' famous wine over a romantic dinner in town! Eymet boasts several fantastic restaurants, cafés, boulangeries, wine merchant and a traditional butcher as well as the tourist office. This Bastide town, one of the best preserved in SW France, is a bustling cultural and historical centre. Don't miss the traditional Thursday market, first initiated in the year 1270. In the summer season there is the Tuesday night market, the Oyster and Wine festival as well as regular concerts and shows. Eymet is a great stepping stone for day trip exploration in the wider Dordogne and Lot et Garonne regions. Within the local region popular activities include wine tours, canoeing, and (electric) bike tours. There are also some lovely chateaus in the nearby surrounding well worth a visit. Bergerac is 21km away. Bergerac airport is only 23 minute drive and Bordeaux airport 1 hour 25 minute drive. The nearest supermarket is easily cyclable on flat road or a 3 minute drive.
