les Violettes is a home from home. You get to chill with all the amenities making life much easier. The house is decorated to a high standard and your comfort and enjoyment has been prioritised. For the nature lovers or anyone not as mobile, there is a downstairs bedroom with double doors into the enclosed garden. What a way to wake up! From the upstairs windows there are field and garden views. We have lovely window seats set into the deep stone walls meaning you can sit and read your book in the morning sun. We love listening to the birds, but there is also a few horses about who love a nose rub over the fence, and plenty of wildlife. The living room/diner and the kitchen also have double doors which open into the garden. You'll love the feeling of the outdoors and indoors being so connected. The BBQ easily caters for 10 people and is placed by the kitchen door for convenience. The garden tables are perfectly placed and you can just about see the TV if you try- connect your own Netflix, Apple, YouTube or Amazon accounts (just remember to log out too!), there are a selection of our terrible French and English DVDs you can always throw in to the player, French freesat, and board games, puzzles and plenty of room in the fridge for wine and cheese! We have red wine glasses, white wine glasses, soft drink glasses, loads of cutlery and crockery and a dishwasher to stick it all in when it's dirty. There is a working washing machine and tumble dryer, gas hob, oven, air fryer, microwave, filter coffee machine, kettle, toaster. The bedrooms- La Fleurie is a downstairs twin room, L'Internationale is an upstairs twin room, La Plumée is an upstairs double, La Royale is has a four poster kingsize bed (!) and La Rurale is a kingsize bed with views across the farmyard and fields. There is a convenient WC on the ground floor. On the first floor is a shower room and a WC. Make yourselves at home and bring the dog as well!

We have had such lovely adventures from our second home that we wanted to open the doors and share what we love with you guys. We spend as much time as we can in France and when we are not working (trainers) we are walking the dogs, riding horses, playing tennis, yoga-ing, chilling with family and helping teenagers with maths homework that is literally too hard for us!! I usually have at least one tab open on my phone helping me plan our next adventures from Ger..

We may be a little biased but we love the charming village of Ger, about a 10 minute walk from des Violettes. Check out the boulangerie, village shop and bar. We are close enough to be able to hear the church clock and bells which I simply love. Plenty of walks from the village including a 5km walk around the hills and forests of the village. The forests nearby have rivers rushing through, these walks/cycle rides are a favourite for us and the dogs. Fosse Arthour is a famous landmark, stunningly beautiful and only a few miles from the house. It is well worth a visit, usually walking boots are advised. If you bring dogs, they will love it! There is also a lovely French restaurant nestled next to the river there, with a verandah by the flowing water. Mont St Michel is about an hour's drive. Parking for a few hours is under 20 euros and then there is a shuttle bus taking you most of the way to the mount. The abbey is a walk up lots of steps but so worth a visit (dogs are not allowed on the bus or in the abbey) plenty to do on the beach, or inside the city walls, lots of shops to visit and spend money! So worth the visit. On the way to Mont St Michel is Mortain. This is a day trip in itself. There is the grand cascade there, a gushing waterfall which you can walk down beside, plenty of benches to sit and reflect. A little further along the river is the petit cascade, which is also well well worth a visit. This walk may take you through Le Neufberg. there is a lovely restaurant there called L'Abbey! In the main town are some cool building and lots of shops to have a browse around. Barenton has a cycle track which is an old railway which goes all the way from Domfront (also worth a visit) to Mt St Michel. It is lovely underfoot and if you bring bikes and want a day out send us photos of you cycling to the coast! All the towns and villages around are wonderful, the roads are quiet and the landscape is stunning. There are many other activities locally too!
