We live in an absolutely beautiful renovated barn conversion with a recently built three story Fairytale style Tower to the side. The original barn dates back to over 100 years ago and used to be for keeping cattle. Many original features have been retained and the property is tastefully decorated with exposed beams and original stonework visible in the design. The property is positioned on large grounds with an abundance of nature around. The guest suites are in an extension to the rear of the original barn with independent access from the gardens into the rooms to allow guests privacy.
We are a friendly family that love meeting new people, we all love family adventures, food (both cooking and eating it!), the great outdoors and being self sufficient wherever possible. Throughout the warmer months you will likely find us outside either gardening, playing a game of boules, cooling off in the pool or preparing something tasty to enjoy for dinner. Craig is the BBQ king and loves nothing more that cooking a good piece of fish of meat on the grill accompanied by some fresh salad freshly picked from the gardens, washed down with a lovely chilled glass of local wine. We absolutely love animals and have some fury friends which make life at La Grange Ancienne perfect for us. Moving all the way from Wales are our two beautiful ginger cats, Marley and Rusty and recently joining the family since moving to France is Baby Fig, an adorable Border Collie. They are all extremely friendly and love a tickle on the tummy from anyone that will oblige! Last but not least we have our feathery friends, 6 chickens, some of which are rescued girls. They enjoy snuggling down in their hen house at night, but during the day they are left free to roam and sunbathe in the gardens.
We live in a quiet hamlet called Le Breuil of 18 houses, just 2.5km from the centre of Montrollet which has a fantastic restaurant and bar overlooking the lake, an easy stroll down a quiet lane will take you there. We are just 10km from our market town of St Junien which holds a market every Saturday morning and has an array of restaurants, cafes, bars and boutique shops. A 30 minutes drive will take you 25km to the city of Limoges, where there is shopping, museums, porcelain factories and of course is home to our closest airport. There are lots of activities to do within our neighbourhood and the surrounding villages including golf, horse riding, fishing, site seeing and cycling.
