We are Lesley & Felix Houareau. Based in Bath, we are lucky to live in a beautiful part of the UK, but we also get to spend our summers in France. We have worked in customer facing roles all our working lives - Lesley as HR Manager and Felix in a Management role for a major retailer. The best part of being in France is that we get to host some lovely guests. We know the area well and can make recommendations about what to do and see locally and help organise visits and activities.

La Fermette France is a cluster of 4 individually styled character gites. We bought a farmhouse with barns in 2004 which we have lovingly restored over many years to provide 4 gites (French holiday homes)each with it's own individual character. Each gite has it's own separate garden so there is plenty of space for social distancing. We also have a Games Barn, a 10m x 5m saltwater swimming pool surrounded by hard standing and lawn, and a separate orchard field with boules pitch which is great space for ball games as well as being a good vantage to watch the spectacular sunsets we get (glass of local wine in hand of course!) . The pool,games barn and orchard field are shared areas. We have kitted out each gite with the sort of things we ourselves want in a holiday home e.g well equipped kitchen, Wifi, 4 bar UK socket extension lead, beach umbrella and a garden with BBQ. We also have lots of baby & toddler kit available on request which mirrors the 20 item essential kit offered by Tots To Travel. (N.B. Le Chai isn't suitable for under 3's due to the spiral staircase).

We are in a quiet arable farming village with the nearest town with shops and restaurants only 2.5km away - many of our guest borrow a bike from the Games Barn to collect their daily croissant. Our nearest beach is 35mins drive, we have the beautiful towns of Bordeaux, La Rochelle and Cognac all within an hour's drive and nearer our home are numerous medieval and roman towns and villages......and we are in the midst of a wine growing area producing some of France's best wines.
